About the Author…
Why did I become an entrepreneur?
Why not? After all I have developed businesses, and inspired leaders of the future. Could I not do it to? If I loved what I do?
An avid fan of Lord Sugar, Gary Vaynerchiuk and Steven Bartlett, for their flair of entrepreneurship, and their natural ability to lead with integrity in all of their business. Being an entrepreneur takes courage, to believe in yourself to do better.
This was the start of my journey, as a writer, artist and creator, to build a business of my values, and an entrepreneur who leads with kindness. So I utilised my 30 years of hospitality experience into a business that still had the same ethos as my “hospitality heroes.”
Accolades of leaders, who I have learnt, admired and shared my knowledge, Creativity and business happens every day in hospitality, and I feel very privileged to have worked with some of the best teams, to this day.
During covid, like most, I came home and had time for myself, a rare commodity in hospitality, and so what did I do? I thought of something positive to do, in memory of my mother, what better way to honour her.
I created a business online, and have since had help, to develop it further. A side hustle I wish to turn into a full time career, that still represents the knowledge, spirit and meetings, of extraordinary people.
This knowledge I can share and deliver through pen, scribbled onto paper. Inspired by my hospitality heroes, Gordon Ramsay,, Clare Smyth, Salt Bae, Michel Roux Jr, Michael Deane, Richard Caring, Fred Siriex, Fernando Pierre, Ian Orr, Shirley Jones, Luanne Quigley, , Frances Monteith, and , and the amazing people, I get to work with every day.
Family, helps you to shine, and push you everyday, towards the finishing line.
My career led me to management level, having worked at Browns in Town, and The Millennium Forum, Theatre & Conference Centre, Derry, South Prom Brew Bar, Newcastle, Northern Ireland The Ivy West Street and The Ivy Chelsea Garden, London,
To inspire, through kindness, takes the willingness to see the potential in others. I had a great leader in a teacher, who I later got to work with as I lecturer, in hospitality at North West Regional College, I have admiration for teachers and lectures, who each day, strive to bring out the best in you, with a smile.
My hospitality books are written with philosophy, to leave an impression, of how to lead with kindness, intelligence, and passion.
My Journey as a writer
I write stories to create a sense of wonder, to make you question, what if, is this possible and could this really be the future? Each written to leave an imprint, omnipresent in kindness.
My style of writing reflects those who have inspired my way of thinking. Quentin Tarantino and Guy Ritchie both have influenced my story writing greatly. Short story format, intertwining to tell a story, while captivating your imagination. I was in awe of their genius and still grateful today, for inspiring me, with their masterpieces.
