I have a dream, are words that are recognizable of Martin Luther King, an american baptist minister and civil rights activist. Words from a speech during a civil rights march in Washington for ‘jobs and freedom’ that was delivered to over 250,000 civil rights supporters from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C, August 28, 1963.
Martin Luther Kings words are even more empowering when you listen to them first hand on that historic day and feel the emotion.
A video clip from that historic day will allow you to listen.
I wanted to feel the impact of the words, the crowd listening and cheering at his every word. When you listen you get a better understanding of the connection he was making and why Martin Luther King Jr could inspire his audience, his words had conviction. A preacher, who's life mission, was to strive for human rights and equality.
For he had a dream in the pursuit of happiness to make all men equal. He had a dream for those who endured suffering, to rise up from the darkness, to eliminate hate and move forward, continually fighting for freedom and social injustice.
For he had a dream, and now his words have left a legacy, and will be forever be told. For when you choose to see the world through the eyes of another. You get to see the man or woman, and the human that stands there.
Words that have inspired and empowered and remind us daily the potential of greatness inside every one us.
For I too have a dream. to build a business that inspires others, to never give up and keep believing. That despite our hardships, life is much better when we are kinder to one another.
A world that is fair, equal and kind, for all mankind.
Love and happiness
